BEA (Building Engineers Association) Seminar and Gathering 2026

In January 2026, PT Zefa Valindo Jaya as a leading provider of water and wastewater treatment solutions in Indonesia, actively participated in the Seminar and Gathering organized by Building Engineers Association (BEA) West Java that held in Bandung.

The event carried a highly relevant theme: "Water Technology Management: A Key Component of Integrated Water Management". This gathering brought together building engineers, industry practitioners, professionals, and experts to discuss innovative approaches to water management in industrial and commercial buildings.

During the event, PT Zefa Valindo Jaya presented a simple pilot unit of Water Treatment Plant (WTP) that designed to provide a direct overview of the clean water treatment process from raw water to water ready for use.

The pilot WTP unit consisted of the following main components:

• Raw Water Tank: Filled with dirty or raw water as the starting point
• Silica Sand Filter Vessel: Removes turbidity and suspended solids
• Activated Carbon Filter Vessel: Reduces odor, color, and organic compounds
• Softener Vessel: Lowers water hardness (calcium and magnesium content)
• Treated Water Tank: Collects the final filtered and conditioned clean water

The system was equipped with a complete network of piping, valves, and supporting instrumentation that accurately represented the full water treatment flow. Through this pilot unit, booth visitors were able to directly observe the basic concepts, working principles, and step by step stages of clean water processing from raw water to treated water suitable for various needs in industrial and commercial buildings.

Amid the rapid pace of urbanization and industrialization across Indonesia, effective water management has become a critical factor for operational efficiency, environmental responsibility, and regulatory compliance. Integrated Water Management adopts a holistic approach that coordinates the entire water cycle from water sourcing, treatment, and usage to recycling and safe discharge.

Water management systems often integrated into industrial and commercial building systems include:

• Water Treatment Plant (WTP) : Purifies raw water (from municipal supply/PDAM, boreholes, or surface sources) to meet high quality standards required for production processes, drinking water, sanitation, boiler feed, and other applications. Advanced filtration, disinfection (using UV or chlorination), and softening processes prevent scaling and corrosion in downstream equipment.
• Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) : Essential for treating industrial process wastewater through stages such as biological treatment, chemical dosing, sedimentation, dewatering, and other advanced technologies. These processes reduce pollutants and hazardous substances before discharge to the environment, enable water reuse where possible, and ensure compliance with Ministry of Environment and Forestry regulations (Permen LHK).
• Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) : Handles domestic wastewater or black / grey water generated from household-like activities (toilets, kitchens, laundry, etc.) in commercial buildings, ensuring the treated effluent meets environmental standards for safe discharge or potential reuse.
• Boiler Systems : High quality feedwater is vital to prevent scaling, corrosion, and carryover in steam boilers. Proper pre-treatment and routine chemical treatment extend boiler lifespan, improve energy efficiency, and significantly reduce maintenance costs.
• Cooling Systems : Cooling towers and cooling systems require proper water management to control scale, biofouling, and the risk of legionella.
